These terms are the agreement between you and ShowStone for your use of ShowStone. Using the service means you accept them.

What the service is
ShowStone reads open sources, keeps the evidence behind every statement it records, and connects what it finds into a graph you can query. You may reach it through our website, through our programming interface, or through a private installation we run for you. What each of those includes is set out in the plan or agreement you signed up under.
Machines do the reading
ShowStone selects, extracts, links and summarises using artificial intelligence. It is very good and it is not perfect: a statement can be wrongly extracted, wrongly linked, or wrongly dated. Every answer carries the source it came from so that you can check it, and you should check anything you intend to rely on. Do not use ShowStone as the only basis for a decision with legal, medical, financial or safety consequences.
Your account and your keys
You need an account to use anything beyond the public pages. Keep your sign-in details and your interface keys to yourself; anything done with them is treated as done by you. Tell us at [email protected] if you think somebody else has them. You may close your account at any time.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to break the service or its rate limits, resell raw access without a written agreement, use it to build a substantially similar competing product, or use it to target, profile or harass an identifiable person. Do not use it to generate anything unlawful. We may suspend an account that does these things, and we will tell you why.
What you put in stays yours
Anything you upload, ask, or store in a private space of your own remains yours. We do not sell it, we do not publish it, and we do not train a model of our own on it. We process it to run the service for you and for no other purpose. Deleting it is a request we honour.
What we hold is ours to license
The graph itself - the sources we read, the statements we record, the links between them and the evidence for each - is built and owned by ShowStone, and your plan licenses you to use it rather than transferring it to you. Where a statement rests on somebody else's reporting, that reporting belongs to them: we record where it came from rather than reproducing it whole.
Availability
We aim to keep the service running and we do not promise that it never stops. Planned work is announced in advance where we can. If your agreement carries a service level, that agreement governs and this paragraph does not weaken it.
Limits
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, ShowStone is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. A material change is published here with a new effective date and, where we hold your address, sent to you before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that date is acceptance. Every earlier version stays on record.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of India, and disputes go to the courts there.
